10. They weren't a complete failure.

All of the economic growth of the Reagan years can be laid squarely at the feet of the "defense" build-up. It propped up failing industries and put blue collar workers back on the line. It was the ultimate proof of Keynesian economics.

The problems were that, unlike called for under Keynes' theories, what the money was spent on wasn't anything durable, and that once the economy turned back around, the tax cuts weren't rolled back. (Not to mention that the tax cuts weren't targeted at the right sector of the economy...the consumption end.)

I know you can argue that some specifics were not a failure but overall his policies failed miserably.
