then, after finally remembering it, explains to the audience that it is an expensive whiskey, so that they will understand the "joke."

And 3x5 note cards! What stand-up uses note cards? I was reminded of an awkward 7th-grader giving a 3-minute speech in English class.

and he still mispronounced it after the audience member told him the name

BTW- Jeannine Garafalo used to work off a list on stage- like during comedy specials. I never liked that about her. As understand it other performers will at least have something taped to the floor. It just looks lazy to read from a list.
