The mean net worth of the average US family is about $98,000. The armed forces and the military industry exist fundamentally to protect each of us from the potential loss of our wealth.
Insuring themselves against a possible $98,000 loss should cost the average American family no more than $300 per year. With approximately 100 million families, the ENTIRE US annual defense budget therefore should not exceed $30 billion ($300 times 100,000,000 families).
Wealthy people have far more to lose than do poor people. For the average American, net worth is falling steadily. For the top 1% it is climbing rapidly. Each citizen should be taxed proportionally to their share of wealth, meaning that about half of that $30 billion should be paid by the top 1%.
Write your Congressional Representative, Senators and our great President who loves us all so dearly immediately.
