In the legal world it's called "jury nullification"...try to counteract the charges against you by attacking the definition of the charges. The right wing has worked hard for the past 30 years to try to redefine what racism is to fit their myopic world and try to pin those who call them out on it as being racist. Thus since the teabaggers have been called racist, in their perverted "logic" they must not be and those making the charges are.

On face value, no the teabaggers aren't racist in their complaints, just in their tactics. It's just like how the Nazi would show how well people were being treated in the concentration camps...playing in orchestras and painting pictures...but the hatred was just below the surface.

Those racist signs photographed or filmed at rallies or protests are either photoshopped, or are carried by outsiders acting like agents provocateurs, and the organizers immediately have them removed.
