3. I don't think a "national treasure" Get Real! But I do adore her and her GREAT MSNBC show.
Edited on Fri Jul-16-10 08:49 PM by LaPera
A "national treasure" is a bit much! Rachel is excellent and an unmovable progressive I watch and Tivo her every night....and she's clever, fair & tough....but a "national Treasure"?

8. as a matter of curiousity, who, if anybody, would you consider a national treasure, and why?
what are your criteria?

40. Yosemite is a "National Treasure" to me - Rachel is a magnificent polictical television host
Edited on Sat Jul-17-10 05:30 PM by LaPera
a liberal, knowledgeable and always an insightful progressive, nobody dissects a story on and of the hateful, greedy, lying republicans & corporate slime as does Rachel (and I love Ed Schultz, Keith Olbermann, Randi Rhodes, the great Mike Malloy, as well as Thom Hartmann Bill Maher & Jon Stewart) But first I love to watch Rachel's show, again, I never miss it....Rachel knocks me out at least a few times a week and she's sensational, Rachel and her staff dig up stories no one will touch or will never go into in depth - Rachel is a cherished gem, she is often fantastic!!

Is that enough for you....

Do you yet understand my "criteria" for what a great TV political hostess and the difference of what a true wonder, a breathtaking monument, overwhelming beauty & ruggedness so vast, precious & pristine such is Yosemite, a treasure forever in our national wilderness?

Which part gives you trouble, the treasure or the national? What would you do different if she were a national treasure?

Edited on Sat Jul-17-10 06:06 PM by immoderate
From now on national treasures must only consist of precious metals and rare jewels.

Let's get REALLY real!

of our soldiers slaughtering civilians and children from a helicopter.

In order to keep her soapbox she can't touch certain issues.

28. I'd love to see her as President one day. She's simply brilliant.
Thank you, Fuzz for your thread honoring Dr. Maddow.

She is possesses one of the brightest intellects in this nation and I can not help, but believe that she has a bigger role than simply providing commentary on complex issues.

I'd rather see her run for an executive position such as Governor and President. She clearly processes information rapidly and can filter nonsense from fact, draw conclusions that are honest, fair and that benefit the public in the broadest possible way. That is leadership.

Above all, she retains her optimistic cheer and good nature even in the worst of situations. She has character.

Dr. Rachael Maddow has all the right stuff for public service at the highest level.

K&R.

she's the best reporter on tv news now that Bill Moyers is gone. it's too bad nbc won't get serious and put her on the nightly news and make it an hour long on their main nbc channel.
