Glenn Beck, Auctioning Helicopter Ride to His Home and Dinner for 75K
Dessert had better be included.
For $75,000, Fox News commentator Glenn Beck is auctioning off the chance to fly in a helicopter with him to his home in Connecticut, where Mrs. Beck will make everyone dinner, according to Mother Jones.

The adventure is being auctioned off as part of his "Restoring Honor" event in Washington, D.C., to commemorate America's leaders and noteworthy citizens. The money raised will go to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides support and assistance to the families of wounded and fallen special operations personnel.

The winner and a guest will go on a luxurious helicopter ride from New York City with Beck to his home, according to a description of the event on the auction's website. Along the way, Beck will point out historical buildings.

A chauffeur waiting at the Westchester County Airport will drive the winners and Beck to his home, where wife Tania will be waiting with a meal. After dinner, the winner will be flown back to the Big Apple.

He'd have to pay me and I suspect most of you $75,000! Yuck!

7. A note to Becko concerning this.
If these dollars truly, and I mean truly go to where you say they go, I can have no problem with this.

Should the moneys go elsewhere, then there is no pox dark enough I can wish upon you.

Be Mindful of what you proclaim sir.

23. Just like his upcoming "Beck has a dream" speech, the NET proceeds...
...will go to the charity, after all the costs have been consumed. That $75K will cover the cost of the helicopter and the catered food, and after that, what's left will go to the charity. It's the same way Hannity does things; they announce the proceeds will go to the worthy charity (and this is a worthy charity, too), but they don't mention all their expenses are first met.

9. I'd bring a parachute.
A few minutes sitting in a helicopter (or any other vehicle) with Glenn Beck would be more than I could stand, and I'd have to leave. Immediately.

13. If I had money to blow like that
I would do it. I'd pretend I'm a moderate conservative or some derivative there-of until we sat down at the dinner table. Then I would lay into him like a ton of fucking bricks. I suspect he'd kick me out. It would be all over the news, and I'd be proud to have wasted the opportunity for some Beck-lover to have had dinner with him.

18. I hope MSNBC wins and sends
Keith or Rachel along with video cams. This could be a three hour special with spin offs for Stewart and Colbert.

Or just pay for Stewart or Colbert and the cams via Comedy Central.

Either choice could bring much more than 75K into the coffers of whatever network springs for this.

19. Is this the same "foundation" that Hannity works for?
I think someone should check into this "Special Operations Warrior Foundation" and see how much is ACTUALLY going to vets.

And let's not wait until AFTER the money has been raised this time.

22. My mistake
Still, they should keep an eagle eye on what Beck actually does. Everything above board.

I wouldn't trust him.

24. No prob, and I agree--I'd watch Beck like a hawk
Earlier reports said Beck planned to pay all expenses for his "I Have a Scheme" event before any money goes to charity. What could go wrong?
