1. They won't listen to us. We don't count.
It has become painfully obvious to me that they only listen to the big corporation lobbyists. I wrote the WH weekly during the health care debates, and I wasn't alone, for the public option and it was like none of us existed. Those who weren't treated with outright hostility, were ignored with contempt, yet the majority of Americans wanted the choice of a public option. I don't think this situation will be any different. The Wall Street infested White House and Congress don't want anyone like Elizabeth Warren, who would make them honest, to upset their greed feast.

4. You win some. You lose some.
I don't think that's a great reason to stay out of the game.

I do understand your frustration though.

6. Before you do
You might want to check in with your credit union or your community bank and see what they have to say. I work in banking, and no community banker I deal with thinks Warren would be good. She just doesn't know enough about banking to do it right.

I think an FDIC official with a lot of bank examining experience would be best.

I would like to see Warren on the FSOC, although I don't know if that's possible.

8. I just talked with a friend who works for a non-profit watchdog and bank oversight agency.
He really likes Warren, but thinks that due to republican opposition it will probably wind up being someone else from treasury.

9. It should be someone who knows where the bodies are buried
Seriously.

We need reform. Unfortunately it is hard to reform, and this is going to be a difficult period regardless.

We need rule-makers who can both preserve flexibility for financing AND stop the excesses.

10. And while we're at it, tell them to stop funding war, start funding

domestic programs, extend jobless benefits, and get on a WPA-type program to put everyone who wants to work to work.

Remind them to balance the budget by cutting war funding, not by raiding social security or any fragments of a social safety net that still remain.

See if they listen to any of it.

Please, look at the issue and show them you are informed. Write accordingly.

I suspect the Warren appointment is a "last straw" for many. We've been in the desert for such a long time and the foot soldiers of the party need some water soon or they'll be gone entirely.

P.S. DU let's rate this one up and respond. I'd love to see Warren at the table but we need to speak up.

13. Don't you mean "Draft Warren"?
I don't think she's expressed an interest in the position yet.
