I know the word installed sounds funny in this context, but that's what they did! He was in congestive heart failure and this was his last option. He's still in ICU AFAIK, but supposedly doing well.

31. The only thing the Drs have saidis that he should be able to live

a reasonably normal life. From all the reports I've heard & read, he will be fine other than the inconvenience of this battery powered attachment. They all agreed that this was his only option. I'm not sure why they've all dismissed a transplant.

when they said he went home. He moved to another hospital in secret - from the fluid build up in late June, DUers already noted that he was in the throes of congenital heart failure.
He had major heart failure and they tried to hide it.
