FED: WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF TOOLS TO RESCUE ECONOMY

front page Huff Po: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/

1. Immediately raise tax on wealthy to pre-Reagan era. Immediately end the ridiculous estate tax levels to pre-bu$h levels.

2. Close loopholes that allow corporations overseas accounts while benefitting from this country.

3. End the frickin wars! Remember what happened to the Soviet Union in Afghanistan? We're sending obscene amounts into a totally corrupt governments, losing lives, & feeding the war profiteers while draining out society.

4. WPA programs. Look what FDR did to get Americans working while the entire society benefitted.

5. Take the middle men out of health care! It's insanity!

Not an economist but just a level headed mom, but I bet my ideas will work!

2. Plenty of work to do.
Invest in infrastructure.
Invest in education.
Invest in clean energy.
Invest in environmental clean-up.
Invest in healthcare
Invest in the space program.

That last one brought us the technology that makes the Internet possible. Who knows what else we'll get back on our national investment.

24. The job of congress is to act in the best interests of the people. Next to none of em
are doing that, regardless of political affiliation. By my count it's a handful, likely under 1% if you take into consideration the number of bodies in both halls. Getting the job done means elected officials actually work at what we elect them to do. Instead, they attend fundraisers, let industry do their homework and compose legislation, then pamper themselves as one of the pretty people it's all about so they look convincing when it's time to give speeches, which someone else likely wrote.

The political world will not see the people through or out of this. Insistent, logical, valid groundswell of demand from a wide and diverse swath of the citizenry must deliver a continual barrage of messaging in a platform that speaks to a touch of tomorrow while addressing the dire straits of our own macabre modern day.

An impressive list of DUers on this thread tonight, likely most know quite a bit more than me, but I learn everyday. I'm learning that the bulk of our military interaction around the globe, has always been about securing governance over resources on behalf of the affluent, I had been under the impression it was a post Vietnam development. We've been living the convenience of their lies for longer than we may care to know. Later has become sooner and we're beyond expendable.

There's no telling what toxins lie in the brew that's bubbling in the Gulf of Mexico. We know enough about the potential of it for it to be a game changer. Like the financial fiasco, the mortgage meltdown, the credit crisis and the police state that's encroaching while the mane dream media picks to pieces, every path to part the public from itself. Any one or two of these things, I'd say is a case of less than favorable timing. All at once? Well then I'd have to say I feel like a lab rat undergoing conditioning, which I guess I don't much like the idea of.

The progressive cause is about the challenge of bringing forward to now. I know we're smart enough to see it through and sentient enough to act, I guess I just underestimated the PTB, a chain linked fence of opposition, uniform in its influence

Rant over.

Kicked

Which is why they will never be implemented.

This crisis was deliberately caused, deliberately timed, and being managed masterfully.

Kissinger was heard to say that the least expensive population control was starvation(it's also the easiest to administer in a controlled fashion). How many people will die in 6 years, I wonder?

I really wanted to believe he was on our side, but after a statement he made last week, I wonder.

11. Does he have a choice?
Edited on Wed Jul-14-10 07:18 PM by Hydra
This was all set up and rolling before he was elected. They could just have easily used Secretary Clinton had he not agreed to keep it in the lines.

I heard Bill had the same problem- he came to Washington with big ideas, but TPTB are VERY persuasive.

On edit:

And if you get a chance, check out Al Gore considering a run back then- he also started talking in a disturbing fashion when he was "getting suited up," as it were.

27. I wish I were brilliant. These are common sense ideas.
Obama is a very smart guy. If he and the Democrats wanted to help society as whole instead of continuing the inequality of wealth, I'm sure it's apparent to them as well. My guess is that our "elected" leaders aren't the ones calling the shots. If true, I wish he'd be frank about this so the truth was revealed to all.
