Glenn Beck's Problem:
Pure and simple: He's emotionally and intellectually stunted.

If you can resist mentally shutting down while listening to his lies and dog whistles, one thing becomes so blatantly clear: He doesn't talk like an adult, as someone befitting his age.

He sounds like a teenager, one who's completely oblivious to the fact that he hasn't thought things through, but yet, he's adamant that he's right in any case.

Sure, money and fame is a tremendous motivator for his assholism, but for him to stay stuck on batshit crazy for so long and so persistently at any rate, bespeaks of someone who is utterly lacking in emotional and intellectual maturity. It seems that once he got to a stage in his life where he was emboldened by the strength of his own stupidity, he stayed there.

Sometime in his past, he learned that he could be quite successful by exhibiting unrestricted bad behavior, and he never had the impetus to grow up. Also, he's quite blatantly hostile towards anyone who has worked hard to become properly educated and is willing to be circumspect about rejecting fantasies in lieu of actual facts. Those kind of people are to be either reviled for not reinforcing Beck's own crazy ideas, or their record is distorted in order to fit Beck's penchant for intellectual dishonesty, such as what he constantly does with the works of America's founders. Either way, Beck resorts to blatant opportunism, rather than telling the truth.

Why is he this way? I really don't know. Perhaps because of some tragically traumatizing event during his younger days... Perhaps he's just plain stupid. Whatever.

Despite all of that, any person who's sufficiently mature and in full control of their own faculties should be able to recognize Glenn Beck for what he is right away, which is nothing more than a fear mongering charlatan with delusions of grandeur. And those people who support him are just as emotionally and intellectually crippled as Beck is, or they too, are completely batshit insane.

3. Yes, I do quite a a lot of opposition research
And frankly, I don't mind.

You see, rather than finding out about what crap Beck has been spewing lately through the filter of Media Matters or Fox Hounds, I'd like to occasionally take the time to find out why he's so full of crap.

If I can dissect his bullshit independently it satisfies my need to always know the truth of things.

5. I listen to Glen Beck
because I only have access to an AM radio at work, and it's the only station I can get, the radio is made in Japan or China so it is really limited. Just like Beck's mind. It's interesting how the tea party is aligned to him, or vice versa.

Beck exists because corporate America allows him to exist. Clearchannel is a rightwing outfit after all. I refuse to believe he has the 3rd highest rating in the US. OTOH, even if one Clearchannel executive like his drivel, they would pay him to stay on the air.

He definitely acts like a child, mocking the people he detests on the left. Limbaugh is a lot like him. He has no mental capacity to think on a higher, intellectual level.

America has a lot of idiots who will believe his rot, unfortunately.

2. You may be right.
"Perhaps because of some tragically traumatizing event during his younger days..."
Not that it excuses his behavior, but trauma at a young age very often stunts emotional growth.

4. His political party was defeated in 1945.
But the teabraggers are trying to bring it back to life.

6. I think he's an actor, a sock puppet.
Someone writes his script, tells him what to do, writes his books. It's all an act. Who's pulling the chain? Ailes? Scaife?
