They try so hard to turn what is basically an occupation into some sort of humanitarian good-will mission. Rachel does a good job of pushing him on some of the more serious elements of this war but he just writes off everything she says.

Hes lying through his teeth when he tries making these claims about how important Afghanistan is to all of our safety, but its a lie that absolutely everyone in the media has accepted. If he was so concerned for our security he would support a complete withdrawal and the movement of all that saved money to programs which would increase our domestic security.

What good is thousands of troops in a foreign country if we are unable to keep terrorists off our planes or have enough law enforcement to deal with homegrown terrorists? This idea that our safety hinges on wasting billions of dollars to prop up a corrupt government is complete bullshit.

14. 'If they were so concerned for our safety'.

If they were, we would have a National Health Care system which would save the lives of over 40,000 Americans a year. No terrorist could achieve those devastating numbers in his wildest dreams.

If they were, we would have taken over BP by now, started legal proceedings for criminally negligent homocide (11 dead so far) and the destruction of marine life, people's livlihoods and who knows how many more will die from the toxic poison they have used.

Then they should pour money into alternative energy programs, such as wind farms on mountain-tops eg to lessen the need for coal mining, another killer of U.S. citizens and their environment.

We would spend money on training more doctors and nurses and building hospitals so all
Americans had access to decent and equal health care.

We would take care of the homeless so they do not die of the effects of poverty, because they are citizens too although I'm sure people like Alan Simpson eg, doesn't think so.

With the money being poured into those useless and brutal wars, we could start rebuilding this nation and have a strong defense right here where it would be the most effective.

If they cared about our safety, they would stop making enemies by killing people who have done nothing to us.

Most Americans are far more afraid of issues facing them at home than they are of 'terrorism'.

They do not care about the safety of the American people, and they should stop pretending they do. No one believes the fairy tales anymore.
