Mysterious man invites 10,000 for free meal

TAIPEI -- A mysterious Taiwanese man invited 10,000 people to eat a free vegetarian meal, a restaurant owner said. Hsu Min-long, of the Lotus Heart Vegetarian Restaurant in Chungho, near Taipei, claimed a young man arrived on a motorbike last week with a bag of money.

“He gave me NT$480,000 (US$15,000) and asked me to use the money to cook vegetarian meals for the public,” Hsu told reporters.

“The money is enough to cook vegetarian meals for 10,000 people. I have invited low-income families and children in orphanages to come and eat, but still it is far from 10,000 people,” he said.
