1. Note that's 1983, not 1984. Mondale, Reagan...
...Presidential elections and the economy.
....not only that Reagan's victory was exactly in line with the economic variables, but also that once all the objective variables are tossed in that Reagan actually slightly underperformed

3. He won't win at all...
...unless a.) Palin wins the nomination or b.) the economy is in much better shape.

If both happen, then yeah, 47 states. South Carolina, Utah & Idaho the holdouts.
