Alvin Greene (candidate for senator in SC) finally has a campaign website
Edited on Sat Jul-10-10 08:15 PM by Jayendra Sandeep
The address is www.alvingreeneforussenator.com

The New York Times just published an article online about Greene. I'd like you guys to go to the "multimedia" section at the left of the screen, and play the audio of an interview in which the NYT reporter asked Greene who set up the website--himself (who does not have a computer) or someone else. His answer was, "I...well, that's not important." http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/11/us/politics/11greene.html?_r=1&hp

1. Sigh...
I'm so embarrassed to be living in SC.

I had put a half a thought into throwing my hat into the ring but knowing that I'd get totally destroyed by DeMint and being WAAAAY underemployed (ie paycheck to paycheck doesn't easily justify the 10k filing fee) I decided not to consider it further. Sadly I would have been listed before Greene, so if the whole alphabetical thing was the reason he was chosen, I would have won!

2. Do you get the impression, like me, that he's being handled by a Republican?

Why would he refuse to say who set up his website? I smell a huge rat here.

3. Indeed
I do get the feeling that there is something very wrong in this whole situation. I don't know if it is handling by Republicans or an attempt by an organized group of Republicans to embarrass the Democratic party. Before the primary, I viewed the polling research and noticed that there was only one possible combination of governors that would result in a Dem win. Being that SC is an open primary state, I considered using my vote to attempt to sway the republican candidate in favor of the Dem party. Ultimately, I felt that it would be corrupting the democratic process, so I voted for Sheheen who I found to be the best candidate. Stupid conscience! :)

But there is something off about Greene and I wish that an independent that I could get behind would step in somehow.

4. I wonder if they promised him something if he ran?
Is it illegal for someone to promise a candidate if they ran with the requirement of losing?
