John McCain sends out another doozy of an emailer
Edited on Fri Jul-09-10 01:25 AM by MrScorpio
Yep, I'm on McCain's email list. I joined it during his presidential campaign the same time I joined then Sen Obama's.

Anyway, he's still up against Hayworth, and let's face it, with the way things are going in AZ right now, McCain is rightfully skeeered. However, what we see here isn't McCain addressing his nutjob primary opponent, he's going all tea bag and attacking President Obama, even if it counters the fact that he himself voted for the Patriot Act and Bush's preemptive illegal war. Of course, McCain has NEVER seen a Iraq or Afghanistan war appropriation bill that he didn't love, even if his record is shoddy when voting for the troops and vets themselves.

But you know, McCain's record is not completely hypocritical... He did oppose the then "unprecedented expansion of the federal government" of the Federal Martin Luther King holiday in the past, so he's somewhat true to his word.

Anyway, this latest plead for cash should be good for a few laughs:

My Friend,

As conservatives, our resolve this election year must be to join together and do everything in our power to stop the unprecedented expansion of the federal government advocated by the current ultra liberal leadership in Washington.

Our charge is to form a united front with the goal of electing like-minded candidates who share our core values of limited government, low taxes, personal freedoms and a strong national defense. We need elected officials who will work to advance our conservative ideals - not those of the liberal left.

To succeed in this mission, I am turning to you as one of my most dedicated and loyal friends. Country First will never be able to carry out our strategy without your support, and that is why I ask that you please help our candidates with an urgent contribution today.

This appeal comes at a critical time in the current election cycle. The electoral support we are able to give to our sponsored candidates across the country will help secure victories in critical elections. These candidates must have the resources to take on their well-funded liberal opponents. Make no mistake, the groundwork laid this summer for these campaigns will make all the difference on Election Day.

This is why I urge you to immediately follow this link to make a donation of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more to Country First. Your contribution, no matter the size, can be put to use in every region of the country to help elect like-minded men and women to state and federal offices.

President Obama and the Democrats in control in Congress have gone too far. They have pushed our country farther to the left than ever before with policies that have led to a record-high deficit and record-high unemployment. But, I can tell you that our Party is doing everything in our power as a minority Party to stop the egregious spending and government expansion, but we can only go so far without electoral majorities. That is why it is so critical to win every possible seat this fall.

Election experts predict a rising conservative tide with the potential to deliver large conservative majorities across the country. However, for this prediction to become reality, our candidates need your support. Please follow this link to make an immediate donation of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more to ensure our candidates have the resources to build winning campaigns.

Every election is critical to advancing our cause and that is why I have pledged to help conservative candidates across the country. This election offers you a choice. You can choose to sit on the sidelines and watch as liberal Democrats expand their majorities in both houses of Congress, or you can choose to take action and join me today. I thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

John McCain
Chairman, Country First PAC

P.S. I am asking you to help me elect candidates who share our values in every region of the country. They face well-funded, liberal candidates who are determined to maintain the status quo in Washington and state capitols across the country. Your immediate support will be used to fulfill our mission of electing men and women who will stop the outrageous agenda championed by the Democrats. Please follow this link to make a contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more to Country First right away. Thank you.

1. Oh, that McCain! He's such a card!
"our core values of limited government, low taxes, personal freedoms and a strong national defense. We need elected officials who will work to advance our conservative ideals - not those of the liberal left."

In other words:

Limited government: limited in it's capacity to help those who really need it.

Low taxes: Yeah, for the rich and the corporations.

Personal freedoms: To carry a gun, yes. The rest, not so much, John.

A strong national defense: Yeah, John, you're all gung-ho about funding the wars, but where are you when those who fought in them come home?

2. WTF?
"President Obama and the Democrats in control in Congress have gone too far. They have pushed our country farther to the left than ever before with policies that have led to a record-high deficit and record-high unemployment".

I guess we just forget the deficit Bush left us and the high unemployment too. I hate these assholes so much.

3. Republican rhetoric
That's all I ever hear from the republicans:

Smaller government - then when asked what they want to cut,
its like a deer in headlights. All that means to Republicans
is that there will be less regulations, i.e. Wall Street, Oil
Co. etc.

Lower taxes - can someone please explain to these idiots that
Americans paid the lowest percent of taxes in over 50 years.
Do any of them read? Also, I know people that make over
$250,000 that have nothing to do with creating jobs. And alot
of these proposed taxes on the "rich" don't involve
"income" tax, they involve estate taxes, capital
gains, etc. If you make over $250,000 and don't have a
financial adviser that can tell you how to circumvent those
tax increases then you belong with this party.

Personal Freedoms? - As long as they are freedoms that are
succinct with the bible. I thought that the Constitution said
that will be no law created that will mirror religious law
(separation of church and state) and that ALL of us have the
freedom from religious persecution.

Also, the "law" passed in AZ circumvents the federal
law already in place. This is unconstitutional because of that
not because it has to do with immigration. If the federal govt
says alcohol is illegal, no state (even AZ) can say - "We
say it is"
