1. She's explained how they get the primary and final
magnitudes. Here you go. The initial is the computers... but until they get an actual human you don't see the final wave forms. The human takes a while. (I knew that but I guessed this might be interesting to all of you USGS fans)

I guess it is not that different than reading an EKG... the EKG involves calipers...

5. I am guessing they also print it
in graph paper... and it is still going, that is the aftershocks.
