Alabama Republicans are F'n crazy.
Look at this negative ad about a moderate republican (Well moderate by Alabama republican standards) running in Alabama.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbw7_SHYzGc

It is insane, they are actually criticizing him because he believes some parts of the bible should not be taken literally. Seriously? I've never met anyone who believes every part of the bible including Noah's ark is literal truth. Everybody knows that parts of the Bible are myths and allegories. At least I thought everybody knew that. After watching this ad, I gotta say, I feel sorry for my fellow DUers in Alabama.

1. Their target audience:
People who believe the bible is 100% literal truth, but have only read about 1% of the bible.

2. Bible literalists are also constitutional absolutists.

3. More Christians than not believe the Bible is error free!
I simply do not understand why those who actually think the Bible is not 100% error free word of god even bother with the Bible or calling themselves Christians...WALK AWAY from the words of Bronze Age Men! There is no divinity in the Bible like there is no divinity in the Quran or any other religion.

Embrace reality!!

4. As a native Alabamian, I take offense at that.
They're a good bit crazier than you say (!).

I'm in Alabama no more. Give me the purple politics of Colorado any day.

6. Yeah, I grew up there and I agree with you
They're a damn sight crazier, ESPECIALLY in their little insular John Birch Society world. They can't IMAGINE that anyone in their right mind would disagree with them either. My Mom and brother still live down there and I feel sorry for them every time I visit.
