this is the only democrat running for governor in tennessee
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mike McWherter is denouncing the federal government's lawsuit against Arizona's tough new immigration law.

McWherter, the only Democrat running to succeed term-limited Gov. Phil Bredesen, said in a statement Wednesday that Arizona's law became necessary "because of Washington's total failure to deal with the real problem."

McWherter is the son of former Gov. Ned McWherter.

The three main Republicans seeking the nomination are Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam, U.S. Rep. Zach Wamp of Chattanooga and state Senate Speaker Ron Ramsey of Blountville. All have spoken in support of the Arizona law.

3. I hate that Phil is term limited
He isn't exactly a liberal in my book, but a ConservaDem keeps out the crazies.

Saw some TV at some friends' place (we were making blackberry/raspberry/blueberry pies from fruit we'd been picking) and the other dudes running for TN governor- Repukes all- gave me the shivers.

Many in Tennessee are into this whole "White Males are the Ultimate Authorities" Mantra, seeping up from Georgia of late perhaps, said males' potential authority being directly proportionate to the degree at which their hair qualifies as "Baptist Preacher hair."

These are candidates with no new ideas, just the same ole Pubbies hoping no one will notice that they were THEIR policies which failed us, hoping that they can convince us they will "fix it all" with their Preacher hair and their Pure Whiteness.

Until they can suck off the tit they grasp so craftily.

I am so glad I don't have TV at home, is all I can say. I would be in tears every day.

6. Unfortunately yes..............
The Dems have really slipped just in the last few years. McWherter at least has some name recognition through his Diddy who was pretty popular. And the Republicans in Tennessee are just as bad as Republicans all throughout the South. Racist, white fat cats who are in government to loot it for everything they can get that would benefit them personally.
