Was Katrina really THAT LONG AGO that the TVidiots can't
remember how to pronounce Lake Pontchartrain?

I have heard the gerbils garbling this name all day long....

1. I'm from Michigan, I just assumed everyone knew
how to pronounce it. We have a hotel, a street, and a fort.

2. Michiganders and Louisianans share exposure to the French language.
While a whole lot of the country is aggressively ignorant of basic anglicized French words.

4. Combine that with exposure to native American words.
Michilimackinac! Try that one. Yes, I had to check the spelling. The area around Mackinaw (Mackinac) Island in northern Michigan. I have also seen Pontchartrain spelled without the first 'T'. It really confuses the GPS.

5. C'mon. Being a Corporate Spokesmodel is hard work!
I mean, there's sumptuous lunches with The Powerful in which some tough stenography is involved. then, there's the Versailles, I mean, DC Cocktail Party Circuit where a Spokesmodel, male or female, has to look their very best to make a good impression.

Bad impressions have been the end of almost as many Corporate Spokesmodels as the crime of Attempted Journalism is or asking a question that makes the Nobility uncomfortable.

I don't think we appreciate how much time and effort and hair gel goes into being a Courtier to the Aristocracy.
