World Cup soccer fans, less than hafl an hour for Germany Spain
Edited on Wed Jul-07-10 01:26 PM by nadinbrzezinski
should be one of the best games of the cup... remember the winner goes to the final on Sunday, while the loser plays Uruguay.

My, my, we may see a repeat of Germany\Holland for the finals, or Spain might make it.

This will be fun...

And the ONLY sports I kind of care is the world cup, as it is damn entertaining.

9. I was seven, forgive me
I remember though, perhaps since that was amazing.

OF course I grew up in a country where that was the talk of the town for the next two weeks.

they are still probing each other... it seems to me. Though Spain has done more pressure until now.

16. My train just passed the German border at Aachen on the way to Köln from Paris
I REALLY hope I can make it back to the house before the game is over!!!!!!!!!

When the game is over, things will be nuts here, no matter what the outcome.

17. They should start to get nuts
the moment Germany scores.

:hi:

And a German player is going off the pitch with injury, so let's see if Spain capitalizes on that.

35. Back in Düsseldorf now: there is no joy in Mudville
I have never seen a German trains station in a major city so quite or so subdued.

Between announcing arriving trains, the loudspeaker announced that Spain had won, 1-0.

I have lots of friends in the Netherlands and Spain as well as here in Germany and speak
all three languages, so I felt all along that I couldn't lose no matter what. It's just
that some will need more consoling than others!

So I get it...

37. My German wife and I prefer to think ahead to July 12th
When all this will be in the record books, and the real world will regain whatever relevance it had, oh, say, a month ago.

I think it was Tom Paxton who had a song about the loss of the "America's Cup" sailing race that perfectly expressed my sentiments.

38. This is why it is so nice
NOT to root for any particular team.

And in the whole scope of things, it really don't matter who wins the world cup.

19. And we go to the half tied at zero
and the first questionable call of the game. It probably should have been a PK, but hey... one more in the collection of calls for this World Cup.

34. It is nice to watch a game and not have a favorite
Hubby said he likes Holland...

Me, don't really care. Just want a nice, EXCITING, but chiefly CLEAN game.

I love soccer at this level because when you have all that, it is a joy to watch.

As a sports fan I am so glad this game did not go to shoutouts. Spain deserved this win straight up.
