Anybody remember
Pat Schroder's solution to flag burning? I can't find it when I Google or Bing those words.

In Kansas we're embroiled in the Phred Felps flag controversy, and it's driving me crazy. It was an ingenious solution, but when you get to be my age--well, let's not get into memory failures!

Thanks..

1. Flag washing?
It's quite popular as a mode of protest in South America.

2. I've never heard that one--
sounds good to me, though...

Her solution had something to do with what the flag was made of, I THINK...??

4. "Schroeder" is an alternate spelling. Try Googling with that.
"That's a`great idea. Let's run it up the flag-pole and see who burns it!" (My own contribution to creative gibberish)

5. What's funny about the flag burning snits is burning is the proper
method of disposing of a worn US flag.

And I'm still waiting for their hysteria about the use of the flag in advertising, a clearly stated violation of the protocols.

6. I think her solution was to make flags unburnable.
Former Rep Pat Schroeder (D, CO) has a great solution to the whole flag burning thing. She suggests that rather than muck up the Constitution with an amendment prohibiting flag burning, just make flags out of non-flammable material.

8. But, burning is the method of disposal.
That is why it isn't really a good idea.
