Abducted 4-year-old girl found in car wash

ST. LOUIS — A 4-year-old girl taken from her Louisiana, Mo., front yard has been found alive 80 miles away near St. Louis, NBC News reported late Tuesday.

Alisa Maier was dropped off at a car wash, NBC said. She was being treated at a hospital but there was no word on any injuries or whether she was there as a precaution.

Her family was en route to the hospital late Tuesday for a reunion, NBC said.

Maier reportedly was snatched at 8 p.m. Monday while playing with her 5-year-old brother in their small, quiet, Mississippi River home.

Police searched frantically for a man in a dark sedan suspected of taking the girl.
