The radicalization of clown
A child. Innocent. Harry giving them hell, even as they all now like Ike. All is well, even if it isn't. It feels safe. Good. Big, strong hand holding mine. Warm hip to lean against. This little kid. Safe. I love you both.

Me and them. You and they. Bang. Jack! Who moved? Bang, bang. Martin! Who said what? Bang, bang, bang. Bobby! Who did what? Who did all that?

Out of school, but before the Navy, all was good and the world my pearl and my oyster. Hey, Hey! LBJ.

Ten years hence. A vet. Nixon. Viet Nam done. Fucking hippie assholes. Love it or leave it, motherfucker. RMN. Helicopter, Double V. Knucklhead Gerry

A Dad now; kids growing. Reagan, Blowing sunshine. Greed is good. Fuck yer fellow man. What's in it for me? Jimmy, too little time. RWR, way, way, way too long. Sire of the Spawn of Satan, bad as broccoli; urp. A new start, Mustang owning BoomerBoy, high hopes from Hope.

I can't believe it. That moron? Really? "I'm telling you, within a year, we'll be at war in the Middle East." GodDAMMIT, they can't be that fucking stupid. Yes they can. {Gored by Bull(shit)} Fuckface, Spawn of Satan, Motherfucker and the DeadEye DeadMan Walking.

Eight years. Pack 'em up, move 'em out. Brick, mortar, and tooling; buhbye. Unravel the net; walk the wire unaided. Incredible. Not one, but two of them. TWO. Endless. Not dependent on another country's meat, he told us. Things will get better. They better get better.

They better get better.

They will get better.

Right?

Cuz there's no more there there, where I seem to be going. My new There is where?

I think the OP's point was that he didn't move at all.

The nation moved under him.

Question people on the issues and they always come up far further to the Left than they claim to be.

46. I've read that for years, but whenever I've gotten into a face-to-face discussion
it always seems that I'm talking to someone who is at least sympathetic to the wingnuts and I usually hear some RW talking points quoted directly.

I'd love to see first hand evidence that anyone in this country is liberal.

Except that I was only 5 in 1965; give me another few years to begin paying attention to politics.

I did get started young, though. My mom took me to some political gatherings, meetings, and demonstrations.

I'm kinda the same way. The graphics are slightly hyperbolic and represent averages. We're all complicated. We all have views that cross the spectrum - or at least part of the spectrum.

43. I hate to get semantical here
I think you're referring to the "radical" left , comrade.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Extreme left is looking for a re-grooving and re-tuning of a system based on money and worth and a more humanized value system. They're only extreme left because "left" seems to be what they call you if you vote Democratic Party.

Commies on the other hand, think that somehow human nature will change if just given the right viewpoint of labor and management.

Stinky, I really feel like you haven't changed, someone is just pushing those poles farther to the right.

24. Because
you're supposed to be a good solidarity Democrat and cannot say anything good, no matter how true, about a Republican. Especially Nixon. It will give DU a poor image.

I detested Nixon and was appalled that he was so celebrated upon his death, but when you look backward, domestically, he was left of Obama.

26. No, things are not going to get better.
Hopefully our new "There" will include a political paradigm shift that transcends the left/right divide. Constitutions and the laws based upon them are only as good as our ability to enforce them with justice and equanimity across the social spectrum. When that ability fails, as it has, with persons and institutions of great wealth and power beyond legal accountability, criminality becomes the rule. The Declaration of Independence makes our duties and obligations in such instances quite clear. We can not consent to be governed by tyrants. Our allegiance must shift beyond political parties and ideologies toward a restatement of the fundamental ideals upon which new Guards for our future security can be established.

Every time in the past 30 years the repubs have moved the line of scrimmage with the invaluable assistance of the MSM, the "leadership' of our party has tucked its collective tail between its legs and moved to wherever the repubs said to move. I've stayed the same, for the most part. Of course I've grown and evolved on many opinions including having the guts to admit being wrong sometimes, and making adjustments accordingly. But I believe in the same basic things I always have. None of this growing more conservative as you grow older myth for me. But as my party has allowed itself to be some unknown( to us without access to the behind the scenes machinations)combination of bought out, easily intimidated and perhaps in more individual cases than we know, threatened into becoming the less insane half of the one corporate party, I, like you and many of us, have found myself being defined as a radical, for simply trying to stand up for the American values and ideals I was brought up to believe in and be proud of believing in.

Who would have guessed we'd have a sudden crop of third stage Guild Navigators?

Folding space isn't as cool as I had imagined though, it seems we can only go to black holes.

My question on a more serious note is, what the hell happened to the actual leftists and the old school fringe? Did they all leave, die, get locked away, or what?
