One of my favorite topics is men who have female role models/heroes, and one of mine from a very early age was tennis player Jennifer Capriati. Her legacy of astounding tennis, mental toughness, and stupendous physical discipline, combined with her battles with drugs, shoplifting, binge-eating, suicidal impulses and depression, numerous comebacks and recent setbacks have triggered enormous empathy and admiration in me for her, as I imagine they have for others who have followed her career.
It was very sad to read about her overdose and hospitalization yesterday.
Thinking Good Thoughts for one of the greatest athletes who has ever lived.
Stay alive, please.
