State Agency Investigating Alvin Greene's Finances
http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2010/06/state_agency_investigating_alvin_greenes_finances.php

The State reports today that the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division -- a state agency with subpoena power -- is investigating Senate candidate Alvin Greene's finances. (http://www.thestate.com/2010/06/28/1353788/us-sen-race-greenes-finances-subject.html)

Investigators will focus on how Greene, an unemployed veteran, came up with the $10,440 filing fee to run for the office. Greene won the Democratic nomination earlier this month without campaigning.

Greene says he paid the fee himself. But in November, Greene, facing a federal obscenity charge, asked a state court for a public defender because he didn't have the money to pay for a lawyer.

"We want to see how he came up with the money," SLED director Reggie Lloyd told the State.

It will probably turn out about the same as in Texas with the Green party

4. The court found that a corporation was set
up to fund the petition drive and it was in violation of the law.

I believe the petition was thrown out and the Green party at this time is not on the ballot

2. Well, this may prove interesting...
though ultimately inconsequential; the Dems have obviously ceded this election to the demented DeMint. Greene is mere sad sideshow at this point.
