2. No!
Very sad, truly one of the greats. He looked so old and sad at Senator Kennedy's funeral... ;(

3. Longest serving member of Congress ever, and a good Democrat.
I know he had his faults, especially in his younger days, but don't we all?

He made up for those youthful falterings during his long, distinguished career in the United States Senate, with legislation that made this country better in any number of ways.

He will be missed.

4. Times change, but he changed with them...
He'll be missed now, more than ever. Can't imagine the Senate without him... ;(

7. He's an example that people can change.
Change their beliefs. Change their minds. Change their behavior.
I have so much respect for him. You're right, he will be missed.

Then, in another aspect - what a character! One in a million.

Rest in peace, Senator Byrd.

8. I agree 100% - I hope that's what people take away from his life & career: people can grow. Change.
Learn. Make their lives into a force for good, and progress.
