like is pointed out in this story:

CONSIDER: If the oil hits a beach and crews start scooping with shovels, and then more oil comes (as it will) all those crews accomplished was letting the oil reach deeper into the sand.

The spill is heart-breaking, but some of the clean-up going on is adding to that heartbreak. There's not enough discussion about correct clean-up practices.

1. Need better boom deployment
stop using dispersant, let the oil come to the surface for easier containment.
Way too much oil is below the surface, need someone that is really in charge.

Like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off. Everyone running around looking busy and nothing is
really happening between the gusher and the beaches.

bp main concern is the oil still in the earth and nothing more, they could care less how many birds, dolphins,
beaches, marshes, people, lives get destroyed. Their eyes are on the black gold and nothing more.

2. " Cleaning up" the spill sounds like mopping up the floor.
Then every things OK, it's not, this cannot be "cleaned up" and this spills effects will last for years and years.
