June 26, 2010 - The oil numbers
Deep Water high estimate. 170 million gallons to date, 67 days, average 2,500,000 gallons per day or 60,000 barrels per day.

Deep Water low estimate. 100 million gallons to date, 67 days, average 1,500,000 gallons per day or 36,000 barrels per day.

IXTOC (1979)

Somewhere around 140 million gallons over about 300 days = 3,300,000 barrels or apx. 11,000 barrels per day on average.

4. I think there was at least one bigger than IXTOC...
the intentional oil release in the Persian Gulf during the war in 1991.

8. We aren't capturing 90% yet?
