Huge Protest July 4th to July 17th in Washington DC.

SPREAD THE WORD ... THE US MILITARY EMPIRE WILL CRUMBLE ... COME AND BE A PART OF HISTORY!

The only way to peace is through the people and obviously not through our corrupt and corporately controlled government.

Most of the rest of the world is aware that the US is a Military/Corporate Empire and that the spread of this Empire is harmful globally to peace, the environment, and economic health.

Part of POTA is to bring awareness to Americans about the profound cost to all of us from this Empire.

To these ends, Peace of the Action is holding Sizzlin' Summer Actions in Washington DC to question, oppose, and educate people about these US policies in particular:

* Reliance on oil and the oil.
* Increased use of unmanned aerial vehicles at home and abroad.
* The lies military recruiters tell our children.
* The US's support of Israel's illegal and immoral occupation of Palestine.

Every indicator for quality of life has plummeted in the last 18 months and instead of pretending like everything is okay, it's time to rekindle an anti-war movement to demand an end to the wars we are waging and the crass militarism that harms us all.

We need as many people as possible who realize that time is running short for us to truly affect change by commitment and dedication to humanity through the end to the US Empire (and its subsidiaries).

Join us from July 4th to July 17th in Washington DC.

1. The problem with this country being soooo large is that most of us
would use huge amts of oil just to get to D.C. unfortunately.

2. they got us by the short hairs, eh?
stay home and protest? Not a bad idea.
Reduce oil use by 50% and starve the oil companies just by staying home more and more.

6. No
We can make them let go by not giving them the money they need to survive.

Starve the Bastard Petroleum companies, and do the environment a favor by using less and less oil.

You want to be free? Or not?

9. WTF?
They have a hell of a lot less from me.
Keep giving them your money if you want, if it makes you feel better.

10. If you cannot make it- PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD
It seems there are very few people that know about this protest and it is next weekend.

They don't have ANSWER and TrueMajority's email list(and why aren't they helping?) so anyone who can help spread this info PLEASE do!

11. Why do they do that.?
When pukes plan a protest, they advertise it for months. Progressives give a weeks notice. Not a lot of people can just pack up and make a long distance trip with that short of a notice.

13. Reminds me of that old adage...
Q: Do you belong to any organized political party?
A: No, I'm a democrat.

Perhaps we need a professional protest planner on our party payroll.

14. If ANSWER, True Majority, Code Pink, UFPJ would lend an email list
But NONE of them are helping with any protests. Why is that?

I think this information has been out for a while, it is just that no one is spreading the word.

28. Declare your own personal independence from oil.
Don't drive a car.
Don't use plastic in any form.
Don't buy groceries at the super market.
Don't use electricity generated by fossil fuels.
Live in a cave.
Hunt for meat and grow your own veggies.

The problem is everybody pays lip service to becoming independent from oil, but nobody really wants to do the hard work of becoming a hunter-gatherer.

We will become independent of oil when we are forced to become independent of oil because there isn't enough to go around. And when that happens we will become independent kicking and screaming and protesting all the way. And it will do no good, because there simply won't be enough oil, and all the tantrums in the world won't change that.

Learn to hunt. Learn to forage. Learn to garden without tractors and rototillers. After the oil is gone it's back to subsistence farming for all of us. Those of us that survive, anyway.

Modern industrial civilization was a one-shot deal. We got one chance at it, and it only happened because of cheap oil. It was one brief blip on a long history of hard manual labor; a history that is also our future. There are no second chances. The fat lady is warming up her voice to sing, and when she does, it's game over boys and girls.
