Ray Lutz wants Duncan Hunter reinvestigated by new San Diego U.S. Attorney

My kind of candidate! I've since moved to Portland, but San Diego folks help get this guy elected and get this to happen. I remember when the last candidate who ran against Duncan Hunter told me personally before she was fired that he felt the Attorney's office was being pushed into delaying a prosecution of Duncan Hunter then. And I also recall what suspiciously looked like a break in in to my house the day I noted this as well as the first article on Carol Lam's firing to the House Government Oversight committee's office.

LUTZ URGES NEW U.S. ATTORNEY LAURA DUFFY TO REOPEN INVESTIGATION INTO EX-CONGRESSMAN HUNTER

June 2, 2010 (San Diego’s East County) – Ray Lutz, Democratic candidate for the 52nd Congressional District, praised the U.S. Senate's confirmation of Laura Duffy as new U.S. Attorney in San Diegio. Duffy, appointed by President Barack Obama, fills the position once held by Carol Lam, "who was surprisingly dismissed after she successfully prosecuted Randy 'Duke' Cunningham, Dusty Foggo and Brent Wilkes," noted Lutz.

Lam, along with numerous other U.S. Attorneys, was fired by the George W. Bush administration despite winning a conviction against then-Congressman Cunningham for bribery and other charges. Suggestions have long been made by critics of the Bush administration that Lam’s abrupt dismissal may have been an effort to squelch her investigation into another powerful Congressman – Duncan Hunter, then chair of the House Armed Services Committee.

This really needs to happen, especially with the new Supreme Court decision to "narrrow" the range of "honest services" crimes people like Duke Cunningham and Duncan Hunter can be prosecuted with.

1. It really really needs to happen.
Perhaps California is finally coming to its senses? Now there's a cherished fantasy.

2. I still suspect Hunter ran for president to "google bomb" distractions on himself!
... so that it would swamp any damning stories that were coming out about him at the same time then...

Duncan Hunter also in bed with convicted Brent Wilkes

Most people didn't see these stories when seeing him about his very ambitious campaign for president which was a pipe dream at the time... But I think it served its purpose to keep these other issues "quiet".

4. Actually Lutz is running against Hunter's son who has the same name...

Who "snuck" in after Duncan Hunter Sr. "retired" and is probably benefitting a lot from the name recognition with the right wingers around that area.

I'm sure that Lutz realizes that if the old Duncan Hunter is finally investigated like he should have been, that name recognition will become a penalty rather than a benefit to his son in running against him.
