That sorry bastard better not die before he stands trial for war crimes
and crimes against humanity. He's scared to death he'll die in a prison in Switzerland with 5 countries independently guarding him and him alone in the prison. The US would not be one of those countries.

That is all.

1. I hear ya. It would piss me off but good for that fucker to die without being held accountable.
Edited on Fri Jun-25-10 09:11 PM by Solly Mack
Mind you...I fully expect to be pissed off. War criminals write books, become professors... and sit on the bench in America....going to prison just isn't done.

I don't think I could stomach the comments that would come out of D.C. about his "years of public service".

Yeah, good luck waiting for that to ever happen.
He's "untouchable."

I'm sure some "act of God" will stay his life this time too...

2. That's always been my fear -- that he'll die before he's brought to justice.
And even if that never happens, I don't want him to go peacefully into the night. I want him to be humiliated, debilitated and in pain. And I'd rather he live for several years that way.

Times like this I wish I believed in Hell - that would be some solace.

I had (have) so much detest for those fuckers I am clean out of any semblance of hate for normal everyday people. Everything else seems so petty and small.

8. You do realize as VP he had no power to commit war crimes as he had no official power at all.

Voting in ties in the senate and having a heartbeat if the president doesn't were the only two official acts he had.

11. A US citizen/politician
does not need that type of "power" in order to commit a war crime. However, due to international law/agreements, there is no possibility -- none -- that Cheney could ever stand trial for anything he ever did.

22. With the key word here being "official"
Doing things off the record and in secret suited him just fine. Doesn't make him any less guilty.

that is the person who is guilty.

21. I hope you don't actually believe he will be brought to justice.
Because you may as well believe in the flying porcines. As much as I wish to see him frogmarched in orange in front of international judges, he is going to die an unconvicted war criminal.

24. I don't wish suffering on anyone
But Cheney is directly responsible for the suffering of possibly millions so when you do the math...

At one point I would have said the same thing, that he must be held accountable, but then as I watched reality unfold I realized that just aint going to happen. And the evil he is capable of every day that he exists on this earth..."they never stop thinking of new ways to harm our country and our people"

25. a nursing home is no different than a prison
Edited on Fri Jun-25-10 11:58 PM by pitohui
it's over honey, he won't be held accountable, there is no MEANINGFUL way he can be held accountable, hell, a prison would actually be more colorful and entertaining than dying in a nursing home/hospital like anyone else

it's over, much as i hate the guy, let him go in peace, it doesn't matter any more

once you lose your mobility you've lost what counts anyway in my book of being old

past a certain age you're NOT scared you'll die in prison dying in prison is no different than dying in hospital dying in a nursing home...past a certain age, let's face it, you're untouchable

there's nothing we can do and no lesson we can teach, except to move forward and try to change the world from where we stand w/out any hope of justice for the past... we have to let the past be the past, there is no "lesson" for him only for us

31. he would not be in the sort of nursing home others die in
He would be in a very comfy suite with his own caregivers and state of the art everything.

I would prefer he stand trial in the Hauge and really be made uncomfortable to the point the sorry bastard dies of fear.

Yikes!!

Imagine having to bathe him and wipe his evil ass...:puke:

I would be too tempted to jam a toilet brush up his anus...

He would probably enjoy it though... :eyes:
