1. There are a lot of good things about America
You are entitled to your opinion but I think there is a peculiar tendency especially on this board to over-emphasize the negative. This might be a natural consequence of being actually concerned with solving the problems that exist - but it's important to keep some perspective, too. There's a lot to be proud of.

2. I agree. I think if I weren't so hopeful about how much ...
... better this country can be (and is), I wouldn't be so critical. When I see it going down the GOP/Corporate toilet, I have to speak up and fight back.

5. Never said I wasn't .....
proud to be an American, but lately it is hard.

Proud of HRC, proud of the longest war in American history, proud of the corporate take over of our proud land.

Proud of the education system churning out blathering idiots.

Proud of this country not being forefront in the search for alternative energy.

And on...

Good god NoNothing, I am proud.

Educate me. Change my opinion. Please.

I think it encompasses our greed, our complacency, our want or need to niggle the little stuff.

Oil covered crabs. An oil covered flag.

A need to change our way of thinking.

Not negative.... pragmatic.

Truth hurts sometimes, and is hard to swallow.
