1. "We republicons are so sorry BP is being held responsible" - Newt Gingrich (R - Brown Noser)
Edited on Sat Jun-19-10 08:04 AM by SpiralHawk
"And we Republicons are sooooo sorry that the U.S. citizens and companies directly injured by multinational corporate malfeasance and negligence, stand a chance of getting compensation for their losses. Fairness and honor are NOT republicon family pharisee values. Smirk."

- Newtie Chickenhawk Gingrich (R - Corporate Brown Noser)

25. It won't work
Expecting anyone beyond their moran psycho-phants to think BP is a victim here is abjectly delusional. Of course, GOPricks and their rascist godsquad fifth column are wholly delusional.

48. I hope they do 'push this meme'...
If they are trying to piss Louisianans off, this is the way to go. This may play to their base nationally, but republicans and independents here are going to be very pissed at the mischaracterization.
Yes, there will always be the idiot 20% who will believe/react to the Rush Limbaugh talking points, even here in the midst of catastrophe. But when they call in to local radio, the hosts have been asking them, "so, knowing that BP is incompetent and cutting corners, lying and cheating, you would rather have BP deciding who gets what compensation and when"?

Dead silence.

Let them defend BP. It would be the only thing that has the potential to overshadow the continuing failure of the federal government to have a forceful comprehensive containment plan. The marsh is about to be totally screwed for a generation, and the pathetic federal response is devastating.

52. Losing strategy.
I think most people side with Obama and against Big Oil on this one.

They will drop the meme soon, as it dies without gathering steam.

The Republicans have been throwing lots of shit against the wall, but lately, none of it seems to stick.

Hmmm.

Maybe people are getting wise to their incessant bullshit machine.

11. Indeed, the spin would be that BP stepped up and is doing the right thing, republicans asked
a 'big bad corporation' to do something right and they did, go corporations, go america, the republican party has your back.

I hope they keep up this meme - I believe the vast majority of the American people are disgusted with BP and what they've done; and pukes like Gingrich, Joe Barton and Ben Stein among others, are opening up the eyes of the public on what their real values are.

30. If no BP "slush/extortion fund", then one of two scenarios:
a) Get used to the Gulf the way it is, or

b) Republicans in the House and Senate: We refuse to raise taxes; We refuse make the taxpayers bail out a horendous mistake made by Obama; Why should someone living in Montana have to pay to clean up the Gulf of Mexico?

came to destroying America financially?
Corporations need to be reigned in.

oversight and regulation is Paramount IF you truly want a healthy robust capitalism in America.

It amazes me that this lying, womanizing, anti-god christian right courting asshole is still being listened to by the freakishly ignorant Christian Right. The man cheated on his wife while telling Americans how the Republican party would make America a Bible-lovin' Gawd-Loving KKKristian Nation again!

He needs to slither into a hole and STFU.
