Republicans block legislation
How can this be...Democrats have the Majority but yet allow the Republicans to block legislation just because they can..It has nothing to do with the legislation ...The Repukes can block legislation because it makes Democrats look weak (which they are) so they use these tactics..Harry Reid should not be the majority leader..Its all about leadership and if he pulls out a victory in November he should not be the Senate leader
Democrats dont have control Republicans do..Even if Democrats remain in the majority,it means nothing because obviously Republicans have control.

1. It's like this:
When Dems were the minority they couldn't do anything because the Repub majority wouldn't let them.

Now that Dems are the majority, they can't do anything because the Repub minority won't let them.

Understand?

2. I was gonna get to that but you pretty much said it all
Way back when the Republicans had control if the Democrats made a whimper the corporate media would shame them into the shadows and they kept quiet..
This would not be so bad except that as a baby boomer I remember how Democrats used to be when they took charge and put Republicans in their place. Now the way Democrats are acting its like having too sets of Republicans in Washington..We have Corporate Republicans that get millions to block legislation and then we have Corporate Democrats that get millions to go along with them.

4. If they would get their spine straighten and vote
on loosing all the stupid archaic rules - such as 60 votes to bring a bill to the floor. Needing 67 votes to overcome a filibuster or what ever. Putting secret holds on bills and appointees they could sail along and the republicans would be sitting in their own mess.

The House doesn't have that problem and they have 500+ members. I think the senate likes the stupid rules because that way, they can collect lobbyist money and the party in power can blame the other party for putting up a block.

5. What I'd like to know...why does Mr. Obama keep giving Joe Lieberman a free pass?
Edited on Sat Jun-19-10 08:03 AM by lib2DaBone
Joe Lieberman, Ben Nelson and the Blue Dogs always manage to show up and stab him in the back... yet he allows it to continue?

Is there othing he can do?
