Kirk Was Not a Teacher as Claimed

A leader of the church where Rep. Mark Kirk (R-IL) claims he worked as a nursery school teacher said that he had overstated his role there, the New York Times reports.

Said Sally Grubb: "He was never, ever considered a teacher. He was just an additional pair of hands to help a primary teaching person."

1. Seems Mr. Kirk has a lot of trouble with honesty.
Illinois, fresh with the memory of politicians like Rod Blagojevich and George Ryan, won't be too happy with his exaggerations.

Kirk has been a member of Congress since 2001, so maybe he had reason to think no one would check. After all, no one had before. I suspect Mr. Kirk doesn't quite understand the difference politically between a statewide race and a single suburban district, or maybe being a Republican fooled himself as much as he fooled anyone else.
