Goddamn fucking Sun Trust Bank! I have been on the phone
nearly an hour over a service charge on my checking account that I was on the phone with them about last month and they told me was fixed. I am just about ready to move everything (not that it is all that much) to another bank. I think this is just a part of the go damned Republican-designed kleptocracy we live in. It is only $14.00-and while I was writing this they came on and told me that for a $20 something fee (that they will waive) this can be fixed and they will refund the $14.00. It damned well better be, or I will be finding myself a new bank. What an incredible waste of my time, TWICE. I am sure they have figures and projections on how many people won't notice they are getting screwed when they have these so-called "computer problems" with "grandfathered" accounts. I am also pretty sure the rank and file people I have to deal with are not told about these scams and just have to deal with irate folks like me.

doesn't fix the problem long term.

going into the branch can be far more effective especially when the branch is busy

4. Trouble is I either have to take off work or go in on a Saturday.
They don't open until 10 on Saturday, which shoots the whole morning.

7. it won't take long
go in and see the branch manager..be loud (but not obnoxiously so)...be noticed...nothing puts off customers more than an upset client.

keep the names of the people you work for and then if it happens again you send a nice handwritten note to the bank president name names and demand that they fix it permanently.

Most, if not all, banks have tiger teams who deal with complaints to the bank president.

I ought to now, when I ran a collections dept I was on a 1st name basis with one of our president's executive assistants. The phone calls started out with "Matt, we have another one..." and then you had 24 hours (and they tracked it) to respond back to the president's office. If you didn't (or were late), you might very well have had a visit from Mr. Wilmers (president) or your executive VP asking what your major malfunction was (and then you got written up for not doing your job)

9. There's an Achieva Credit Union near you.
And, they're open on Saturdays.

I was just checking, because I'm leaving Wells Fargo soon.

Over the last month, since they started transitioning from Wachovia, they've been calling me once or twice daily to sell me their latest greatest thing since peanut butter service for the low, low price of only $9.99 deducted automatically from my checking account.

6. I don't know why anyone
who works for their money, chooses banks over credit unions for their personal financial affairs.

8. SunTrust is my bank
I have had several accounts with them since I moved to Florida in 2001.

Any time I have had a glitch, I just go and see the manager. He gets on his computer and fixes it (even if the problem is my fault). When I set up an account, I try to meet everybody in the branch and when i go in to make a deposit or withdrawal, I wave at all the desk people and say hello on my way to the teller windows.

Skank of America is a whole different story.
