question regarding Barton
so, if he steps down who is next in line for his coveted House Energy and Commerce committee position?

my subconscious keeps telling me these repukes that are calling for him to step aside are only doing so in order to grab his place on the committee.

unless there is an established predecessor, that seems like the only viable reason, otherwise no repuke would really ever give a fuck about a comment like that.

am i missing any vital information to the contrary?

2. Barton has oil flowing through his corrupt veins. He spoke for all other republicans.
Barton said what every other conservative is thinking. Right wing radio is filled with attacks exactly like Bartons.

You can bet there is a power struggle going on now. They can't leave Barton in that position. They will have to give him a token punishment because the GOP is terrified of losing in November if they are labeled as BP lovers, which they are. If the democratic leadership doesn't capitalize on all of the republican blunders in the past nine years they are stupid. If they went to the throat of the GOP they could even pick up seats in congress. But that means they would have to be creative, intelligent and have some courage.

4. You got it. And that apology to BP by Barton, was probably faxed to his office...
...before he walked into that hearing. And like a good little soldier, he repeated it.
