Is there anything Rush Limbaugh could say that would make his audience stop listening to him or
make the Republican Party disown him?

If someone in the media said poor kids should look in the dumpster for food, or if someone told that 6 year old child his mother would have died anyway, they would be scorned.

Any ideas on what Rush Limbaugh could say that would get him into trouble?

4. Yes - "the rumors online about me being arrested for gay sex were
true" - that's one contradiction that even that crowd couldn't fit into their brain along with it's exact opposite at the same time like they do everything else.

10. I heard a rumor that he's a junkie pedophile...
Hopefully a pedophile admission would be much more offensive than being gay.

Of course, as we know, his audience ignorantly conflates the two in their kool-aid-addled brains.

:puke:

8. He could never be too outlandishly to the right for them to stop listening
Those idiots will follow him off any cliff as long as it's a "conservative" cliff. Should he ever offer liberal attitude? His audience would abandon him in an instant.

12. Exactly. And I think this is what the OP was asking. If FatBoy came out and endorsed
on-street, vigilante "justice" against immigrants, even that would not be too far reich-ward for his audience.

This is parallel to the hate-media statement that "they did not always support Bush." Yeah, they criticized him - on the few occasions when he was not fascist enough for them.

16. sadly, his drug bust didn't work
even though he ranted more than once, that drug users/pushers should be thrown in jail (unless he does it or Jebbie's daughter does it). Well, he was caught with viagra (not him prescription) on his way out of town)--but since some of his listeners might be just like him, I don't think that would bother them, either. While working people are losing their decent jobs, and he's always got a great comeback about getting an application at Wal-Mart, or sneeringly deriding the person who's lost their job, I don't see much empathy for his own base-so his dittoheads must be as wealthy as he is or they love them some S&M action. And, of course, the corporations can do no wrong, it's always someone else that's at fault-some other group of people (ya know, those hardworking people). Just like Glen Beck using his faux tears, and has the audacity to misquote Niemoller. WTF- First they came for the banks? What an insult to all people who were killed under a very pro-business fascist regime. Nuts, I tell you, they're all nuts!!!!

19. I Became Convinced Years Ago...........
...........that Rush Limbaugh could squash a sackful of puppies into goo in the middle of Madison Square Garden, and all of his listener-lemmings would swear those puppies were evil incarnate, they had it coming to them, and applaud him for his heroism in the face of such a grave threat.

And that's not just him. I'm convinced ANY Republican would do the same thing if ANY Republican did it. I've found that about 99% of Republicans are merely rooting for "their team," and if "their team" does it, it's the best thing ever, and "their team" can do no wrong.

22. The stupid ignorant brainless racist that eat up every word
this POS says would never stop listening and agreeing with him no matter what he says or does. My sister went in to a rage when I told her five years ago he was a drug addict. I was proven right and she never apologized. All three of them would kiss his ass in public if he asked them to, and so would all his devotees.

24. Limbaugh's listeners are some of the dumbest, most gullible people on the planet.
He's been lying to them for years and they just don't care. I don't see that changing anytime soon. Limbaugh could say or do anything, and it wouldn't matter one bit to his listeners.
