The nominee

Jane Branstetter Stranch
Nominee for the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit
56 years old

The problem and my second letter

On On Nov 19th, 2009 the US Senate Judiciary Committee approved Jane Branstetter Stranch, a nominee to the 6th US Circuit Court of Appeals, on a 15-4 bipartisan vote. Almost 7 months later she is yet to receive a vote. The majority leader has not filed for cloture and the public has not been given one reason why her nomination has not been acted on.

I will continue to write to you, Senator Bond, and to the Senate Majority Leader daily until such time as this noncontroversial and qualified nominee is confirmed. I am also requesting a response from your office in order to make transparent to the public what barriers have been placed in front of this nomination.

Sincerely,
