WaPo: S.C. Democrats refuse to oust Alvin Greene as Senate nominee
S.C. Democrats refuse to oust Alvin Greene as Senate nominee
Members of the South Carolina Democratic Party's executive committee voted overwhelmingly tonight against holding a new Senate primary, upholding last week's controversial win by unemployed veteran Alvin Greene (D) over former state Rep. Vic Rawl (D).

Rawl, who lost to Greene 59 percent to 41 percent, had brought his case before the committee tonight, but the 61 members present rejected his protest by a five-to-one margin. Rawl said in brief remarks after the committee meeting that he would not appeal the decision. Greene did not attend the meeting, which took place in Columbia and lasted for more than five hours.

For the time being, the decision means that Greene remains the party's nominee to face Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) in the fall.

SEEMS LIKE THE DEMS WOULD RATHER ACCEPT A SUSPICIOUS OUTCOME THAN EXPOSE THE VOTING MACHINES THAT MAKE A MOCKERY OUT OF OUR ELECTIONS.

1. Maybe they are tied into it in some way.
It looks, from an outside perspective, as if SC is a "Carve-up" state.

That is, the Dems concede GOP permanent dominance there in exchange for a couple of safe Congressional seats and a handful in the leg.

5. It's the MONEY PARTY decision-the same ones who told Gore not to fight and Kerry to concede.

I remember a county chair from Franklin county, OH saying under oath no less that there was not no misallocation of machines despite evidence from internal document.

11. The whole game here is designed to fuck Democrats
The more Dem support and attention Greene gets the stupider we all look. This is exactly what they want.

13. Our enemies also want
to see us destroy ourselves over this. The more contentious the fight between Rawl and Greene, the more alienated African-Americans are about the Democratic Party.

Repukes are laughing themselves sick over this, since they know it doesn't make any differece whether it is Rawl or Greene facing DeMint in November. They get to point fingers at us for having the fight, while continuing to hide how they will screw over America once they eliminate our Congressional majorities.

14. If Greene wins..we win...the GOP would be fucked. If he wins & caucuses with us
Edited on Thu Jun-17-10 11:15 PM by opihimoimoi
better yet....if he goes over to the GOP and caucuses with them...they got a ROOKIE from 6th grade to deal with...they will OWN HIM.

DeMint would be out and his chair in committees would go to the next Senator...

Green is gonna be an albatross on their necks should the DEMs see the reasoning and vote him in to teach them Pubs a lesson:

"Ya never do something without thinking of various outcomes"

GOP They gave the DEMs an unintended OPENING...we can take a ROOK from the chess board.

17. yep. We don't like the result so lets hold another election
Without proof of fraud there is no choice.

By proof I don't mean internet/blog posts.

6. tells me that there are some dirty dems or dem plants
Just like Theresa LePore who was a registered dem but worked for the republicans and the
saudis to make the "butterfly ballot" in Florida 2000.

I hope Obama send Holder and the DoJ to look into the "Miracle Greene Win."

10. I think the fraudulent elections are the reason why they are not investigating the Siegelman case.
those in power will not retain it if they are fully exposed. It's the reason why we could never be allowed to get our day in court and why Conyers who possessed the evidence never acted upon it.

7. Something's up here
It was planned. Not sure how or why, but it was.

But I can't imagine WHY.

Kudos to Vic Rawl, here, but it seems the deck was stacked against him.

8. I hope Rawls will take the judicial relief
and remove Greene from being the nominee.

And secure ALL data before the runoff.

Once data is secure, set fire to the entire voting equipment (minus one for the purpose of showing why it should be set on fire).

Force 'em to go paper.

Hire more workers (hint, hint) to hand count them. Don't care if it takes a week to do it, but at least do it right!

12. But the SC election authorities refused
to impound the machines.

And the SC Dem Central committee had no hard evidence to justify any other decision.

The circumstantial evidence is overwhelming, but I guess they figured they couldn't open this pandora's box with only that.

9. Unless they can prove fraud they have no choice but to accept the outcome....
Otherwise what is the point of elections if another entity can reject candidates just because the status quo doesn't like the person. The voters should be a little more aware of who they vote for otherwise they'll end up with more dumbasses like this guy.
