CEO Bonuses
Company does well, CEO gets the credit, gets huge bonus.

Company screws up, massive oil spill, stock going down "Uh, not my fault!"

Time after time we hear justification for the bonuses and perks, we hear how their 'leadership' was responsible for said growth.

Bad things happen? It is the 'little people', "I could not be everywhere all the time, I delegated, not my fault, it is theirs!"

Either you are responsible and deserve praise or scorn, or you are not. Which is it? And remember your answer come bonus time.

1. The CEO as God..
Everything good is due to the CEO..

Everything bad is due to other factors, not the CEO.

5. That's why people don't worship the old gods any more..
Entirely too human, it's more comforting to have a god who is perfect..

3. That's the way capitalism should work. Big risk equals big reward or big crash.
Unfortunately, the corporations, led by a handful of people, have figured out (with Congress aiding and abetting) how to game the system so that win, lose, or draw the top layer comes away with wads of cash.

6. Ayn Rand, Objectivism, Libertarianism, 'free markets'
and whatever nonsense.
Those at the top have to be brought kicking and screaming to take responsibility.
