1. My wife and I got tired of $30 per month landline bills
Gave it up and went to TracPhone pre-paid cell where we get 3 months and 120 minutes for $19.95.

3. I had to have my landline disconnected. Got tired of it ringing all day only
to find that nearly every single call was trying to sell me something, including an extended warranty for my 1997 Chevrolet truck.

4. this is what's going to happen to your Facebook account too
It happens to everything useful.

Find a system that helps you communicate, the jerks take it over and use it to try to sell you stuff they have to *push* because hardly anybody wants it.

5. we dumped the landline years ago and went cell only. why pay twice. we do
have magicjack so my daughter can call me if she gets home before me. but that's $20/year. you can add your number to the no call list, though they sometimes still call you. as for the mail... it's hard to stop them. if you lock your credit up then you would get less junk mail. not sure how to do that though you don't need that lifelock thing to do it. that's why the credit rating agencies fought that lifelock guy because it would hurt their business. it is intrusive and a waste of natural resources. but the post office could use the business i guess.

6. I dumped my landline then got a new 1 for low cost per month
the new number turns out to be a blessing...i pay for it be unpublished.

it will be good until all the marketers get a hold of it, but i don't give it out.

7. that's one way to go. it's like email addy.... my older ones get SO MUCH
junk mail!! i hope you can keep the parasites off your phone. how annoying they can be calling just as you are about to eat dinner or something. and try to say no politely..... forget it!! i remember several times telling one company to take me off their list and then a different person from the same company would call. i would get calls several times a day. this was several years ago and was p robably AOL or something. gets to be a bit much.
