Chris Matthews: 'Rise Of The New Right' Special Will 'Scare The Heck Out' Of Liberals
Source: Huffington Post

MSNBC host Chris Matthews says he is sure his new special, "Rise of the New Right" — which airs tonight at 7PM — will stir people up, no matter where they fall on the political spectrum.

"I think that the left will say this scares the heck out of me, people in the middle will say this is amazing, and people on the right will be cheering for all I know," he said in an interview with HuffPost Tuesday.

The documentary examines the rise of the Tea Party movement and various right-wing militias that have formed in the wake of the 2008 election of President Obama. Matthews said the disparate people and groups profiled in the special share a fear of the power of the American government.

"There's a similar message," he said. "This government's a tyranny and it has to be, if not overthrown, then something like it. They treat the American government like a foreign occupying force."

10. Not watching. And I don't believe they are 'rising' at all.
But I do think that the lies and crap that those ignorant fools spit out should scare anyone with a functioning brain and cognitive reasoning skills. Which is almost always liberals.

14. FUCK TWEETY...
20 minutes.
That's how long I lasted.
I said "Fuck This!" when he had DICK Armey in a interview setting and DICK was spouting his "OBAMA does not understand the CONSTITUTION" bullshit when the President is a freaking Constitutional law professor.
Tweety had the opportunity to ask...
"Dude? Are you NUTS?"
"The President is a freaking Constitutional law professor!"
And he never did.
So fuck him and his stupid little documentary that's supposed to scare the pants off of me.
Fucked up journalism and reporting like this piece of crap is what scares me.

I liked Alex Pelosi's documentary on HBO much better.

20. They share the same anger at losing the last election, more like.
That's the only thing that binds them together.

They are the 18% that still support Bush/Cheney.

.... now these teabaggers and militia fucks know how I felt from 2000-2008.

Fuck them. I'm damned unhappy with this government but all of the bullshit we are dealing now with started under Reagan and Bush, and where were they then? Just a bunch of racist fucks.

23. These People Are More Dangerous To Themselves...
I've always thought the teabaggers were an astroturfed "movement" to channel hate and anger against this administration...initially a strange mix of racists, anti-tax idiots, gun nuts and other malcontents...all energized by Dreck from Beck and a massive PR effort by Armey and the right wing "mighty wurlitzer". It didn't stay that way for long...it became the haven of Paulbots, LaRouchies and other extremists who now are a threat to the GOOP establishment and driving moderates away in droves.

Yes some of these slimeballs are and can be violent, but their actions are almost alway self destructive...making their own causes look even more radical. Many of us here weren't surprised or disturbed by what Tweety was showing...we've seen it, read it and know how dangerous these shitstains are. The people I'm hoping were watching are the large number of moderates...many who did vote for President Obama in '08 and are the "silent majority" that doesn't listen to hate radio. If it woke up a couple folks to how unhinged the GOOP has become, then it was an hour ov valuable television.

Most tea baggers are 60+ with no military experience. Most militia men don't have anywhere near the training, numbers, physical fitness or weaponry of the real military.

If they want to engage in domestic terrorism and be violently slammed down, have at it. The morons never figured out that the reason Obama and the dems have a super majority is because a majority of the public wanted them in charge. Who is going to rise up with them in their calls for domestic terrorism? The 67 million people who voted for Obama?

As long as they keep pushing the GOP out of the mainstream and out of power, I am content. Supposedly the push for all these tea party candidates in the 2010 elections will give dems an edge because moderates will be turned off of the GOP and the GOP vote will be split (like it is in Florida).
