His company has single-handedly destroyed the Gulf of Mexico for generations. And yet, something tells me that the CEO really isn't going to personally suffer very much. Oh, he may lose money in stock options, his company may eventually file for bankruptcy - but he personally will still be a very, very rich man.

Fucking sickening.

1. Hopefully, he'll be in jail.
I am hoping the criminal investigation has teeth and follows the threads wherever they go.

2. "Generations" is not an understatement.

What they did was criminal. They will just brush it off as a business decision that just didn't work out well.

3. Oh, the poor baby has had to give up so much of his life already! Poor him
And it seems likely this has cut into his summer holiday fun and everything. He still has his job, which is more than a lot of people involved with real oil work can count on at this point. Then there are the widows of the men killed in that mismanaged rig.

I am pretty pacifist, but that sniveling SOB makes me wanna slap the shit out of him every time he opens his whiny mouth. Probably not alone in that feeling, and that is probably why they have taken him out of the glare of cameras. One hopes he will soon be unemployed and looking at ruination from lawsuits. These corporate criminals need to know there is payback for bad management.

But I doubt he gets any real come-uppance

5. He and the other execs should get jail time *AND* give up their family fortunes.
They got rich by playing the risk game, now they have to pay back what they owe.

9. Define: Suffer...
Do you mean physical pain or having to endure some major emotional hardship? I don't really care...it's the company...an aggregate of people...who are responsible here. If there was criminal negligence, those who are deemed responsible should be held accountable and if they "suffer", c'est la vie.

I'll bet at the Big Boy Oil Club meetings they have he gets the cold shoulder or is snickered at. Is that good enough? Yes, he may walk away from this with lots of money, but money doesn't buy peace of mind. He's sure to suffer as his career will be over and his reputation (which some still consider valuable) will be forever associated with this disaster. If the person has a micron of compassion, there has to be a touch of remorse and suffering. All the money in the world can't wipe that away.

11. Not a penny financially
British petroleum wrote an indemnification clause that basicly says they will reimburse british petroleum executives for any financial losses due to the spill.
