so plenty of time for non-Laker fans to catch the first twenty times the shows get rerun.

Rachel got only 800,000+, usually, she gets a million.

16. and how were the numbers on other networks?
And did you look deeply enough to see that the numbers just a few days ago were 582,000 for Rachel and 955,000 for Keith? (June 11)

That's significantly lower than last night's 582,000 for Rachel and 1,083,000 for Keith.

So what was your premise again?

10. Keith and Rachel have never struck me
as people who hold back criticism because people want to hear sugarcoated news or opinions.

I'm not sure what some folks are going to do for news, though. Fox is out, rightwing, we all get that. And CNN. Now MSNBC. And Huffington Post ... and Raw Story and Common Dreams and even the Daily Show. And Helen Thomas. And Krugman.

What I'm seeing is that journalists who were independent of the administration under Bush were hailed for not being white house toadies. And now people are turning on them for the exact same reason they once looked to them - precisely because their criticism is harsh and not tainted by feel-good puff pieces.

35. I just always wonder why President Obama can be bashed whenever,
Edited on Wed Jun-16-10 07:00 PM by FrenchieCat
and that's so good and "healthy" for democracy and shit,
but other folks can't be criticized once in the while,
although many are in our face each and everyday.....
or it means they have been thrown under the bus?

Why is it that they always have to be right about their opinion?
(cause most times, that's all it is).

Personally, I don't think they always are.

imperfection is a common thread as it resides
in all of us, often enough.

42. DINGDINGDINGDING! We have a winner!
Thank you, noamnety. It's disgusting that the same DU that carped and whined about Fox News being in the White House's back pocket when Bush was president now carps and whines when someone on MSNBC dares to say something contrary about the current president.

I thought the commitment of journalists was to be to the truth, regardless of where it lies. You don't see them criticizing Olbermann and Maddow when they praise Obama. But when they criticize him? It's "Out you two pixies go!" All of a sudden, they're just Fox Lite, or closet rightwingers, or too afraid of their corporate overlords to speak the "truth," or "fabricating a narrative," or what have you...and they MUST be turned off, they MUST be thrown under the bus, they are DEAD TO US!!!!!!!

Oh, and then after that comes the parade of DU'ers patting themselves on the back for having thrown out their TVs 20 years ago, and preening in front of everyone because they think it makes them look so brilliant to not ever watch TV news at all...

Lather, rinse, repeat.

26. I think we need a fleet of buses
to be honest. That's a big bus, but nowhere near big enough for all those who have been thrown under it on a daily basis it seems now. I know Noam Chomsky landed there a few weeks ago and he was late getting there.

I wonder if the party loyalists have figured out a simple fact. The more people they feel the need to toss under the bus, the more evidence that is that the numbers of people, most of them supporters of the President, who are expressing disappointment in his policies, is growing rapidly. And that should, although so far it doesn't appear to have, caused them to ask themselves why they appear to be a shrinking minority?

of lemon with it.

When I got home, the wind had blown a large limb out of our big oak and I had to get out the chain saw to get in the driveway.

I'm never going to let them substitute lemon for lime again!

With all of the problems facing Our Nation and Great Society, isn't there a better use of time than to sit around checking the TV "news" ratings hour-by-hour?

Sometimes it seems like the inanity that possesses the screeching teamonkeys is starting to possess this website.
