"Obama's Katrina"...

Katrina

BP oil spill

The republicans have tried to make political capital on the Gulf Oil disaster from day one. They are like vultures.

1. But you know, sometimes you have to stand in awe of the Republican media machine.
I mean, this is the party that whines and moans and screams about "big government" and "too many taxes" and "too many regulations" and yet somehow they are able to get out there in front of the cameras and complain that the government isn't doing enough to help, isn't giving them enough money, and no mention at all of how a lack of regulation helped this disaster happen in the first place. AND THEY'RE GETTING AWAY WITH IT - in a huge way!

McConnell to Obama: Don’t link Gulf spill to climate bill
By Ben Geman - 06/15/10 05:07 PM ET

The Senate’s top Republican is warning President Barack Obama not to cast the Gulf of Mexico oil spill as a reason to enact climate change legislation.

Obama is slated to discuss the federal response to the spill and energy policy in a highly anticipated speech from the Oval Office Tuesday night.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) predicted Tuesday afternoon that Obama will “seize on — in his Oval Office address to the nation tonight — to make an argument for a national energy tax, which is euphemistically referred to around this town as cap and trade.”

“I can't think of anything more inappropriate than to suggest that a national energy tax is an appropriate reaction to this environmental disaster in the Gulf,” McConnell said at a Capitol press briefing with other senior Republicans.

3. Isn't Mitch McChinless one of those who try to "link" terrorism to everything
he wants passed, and abortion banning to everything which may help regular (read: non-millionaire) people?

8. Amen!
Of course, putting the criminal in charge of evidence and the crime scene ranks pretty high in my book, too.

Letting BP run roughshod over the press and the citizens is NOT the best way to get reelected, imo.

9. Where was the MSM then? In fear of "criticizing the President
at a time of war". This should have been played over and over. They should have brought it out during the 2008 elections to show what kind of President McCain would have made. The MSM is disgusting. I guess they feel safe now in criticizing President Obama in a time of war.

And they are still fucking it up as I type.
