The new guy Obama appointed head the MMS helped prosecute Olie North and Iran Contra
According to a White House biography, Bromwich is a partner at law firm Fried Frank with expertise in organizational oversight. He served from 2002-2008 as the independent monitor for the District of Columbia's police department, ensuring compliance with civil rights and other laws.
Bromwich was the Justice Department's inspector general from 1994-1999 and before that was a federal prosecutor. Among other cases he was a courtroom lawyer in the trial of former White House aide Oliver North in the Iran-Contra scandal of illegal U.S. funding for Nicaraguan rebels.

I also did some other googles on him and he's tough on corporations

2. I'm Far Left
but a realist on the hidden powers behind power.

I didn't expect this appointment he's definitely not a hack
of the energy cartel.

Anyone who went after Olie North and Iran Contra is OK in my book.

17. But, you know Bromwich let G.H.W. Bush walk for his involvement in Iran-Contra
But, he wouldn't still be in the Justice Department if he had tried. So, I guess he's the best we can hope for.

will be fine with the results no matter what they are.

That's been the pattern over the years- and it's at the core of how and why the Gulf was fouled for generations in the first place.

5. Haven't noticed that it was...
but considering the administration's record up to this date on returning accountability and the rule of law to pre-Bush norms, one can surely understand the skepticism.

6. I'm very pleased with the appointment of a prosecutor.
But your gooking habit, not so much. Is it really important to demean, insult, belittle and dehumanize humans you disagree with?

9. I said if Bush beat Kerry it would take many years to clean out the federal pigsties
and if Kerry had won, and he did, it would have taken years
but half the time that Obama needs since they have grown more powerful.

The Defense Dept and Justice were my first picks to clean out
never thought it would be Interior..

8. I like the pick from what I can tell. I don't expect much. I remember "Fitzmas".
How much can a good and honest person do in a system like this? I hope he's bold and that his findings are watered down after the fact.

11. And the prosecution did a good job.
It was Congress that screwed it up by taking immunized testimony. I do believe this was over the objection of prosecutors.
