1. Do you know the name of this business? I wouldn't mind calling my congress critters about it.
It appears the only way BP will allow for any help is if the government forces them.

3. Someone here posted a YouTube demonstration
of how these bacteria work, and they are truly amazing. They should have been out there with these weeks ago and skipped the dispersants.

5. FYI, a potential drawback is it can de-oxygenate the water.

9. Who cares? The fish are either dead or going to die anyway and the lack of
oxygen is only temporary.

7. Microbes can do the job not sure if they can underwater though
The Gulf is going to be a total loss after hurricane season churns the water column. Down side of the microbes is they deplete the oxygen. Frankly I'd rather have the sea-life die from oxygen deprivation than turn into franken-fish. I think it will be a generation before this cleans itself up and 30 years before it is back to what we called normal 60 days ago.

8. They should be reaching out to the states, counties and cities on
the gulf coast. Fuck BP they're hopelessly incompetent. I doubt they have anyone even reading the e-mails that come in.

12. These microbes are naturally occurring in the water
At the presence of oil they naturally begin to multiply more and more as they consume the hydrocarbons.

It's important to note that these microbes don't reproduce well in captivity as a whole, but a great deal of research has been done in that area. There's also a concern over introducing genetically modified microbes into the gulf by some researchers.
