Bush almost runs down the Press Corps with a tractor...
Could he be ANY MORE of a bumbling buffoon??!?!?

I Have Had My Differences With Members of the Press. But it's Nothing That Burying them Under Tons of Earth Won't Solve

Contributed by Holly Bailey - Posted: January 30, 2007 2:10:10 PM

Does President Bush have it in for the press corps? Touring a Caterpillar factory in Peoria, Ill., the Commander in Chief got behind the wheel of a giant tractor and played chicken with a few wayward reporters. Wearing a pair of stylish safety glasses--at least more stylish than most safety glasses--Bush got a mini-tour of the factory before delivering remarks on the economy. "I would suggest moving back," Bush said as he climbed into the cab of a massive D-10 tractor. "I'm about to crank this sucker up." As the engine roared to life, White House staffers tried to steer the press corps to safety, but when the tractor lurched forward, they too were forced to scramble for safety."Get out of the way!" a news photographer yelled. "I think he might run us over!" said another. White House aides tried to herd the reporters the right way without getting run over themselves. Even the Secret Service got involved, as one agent began yelling at reporters to get clear of the tractor. Watching the chaos below, Bush looked out the tractor's window and laughed, steering the massive machine into the spot where most of the press corps had been positioned. The episode lasted about a minute, and Bush was still laughing when he pulled to a stop. He gave reporters a thumbs-up. "If you've never driven a D-10, it's the coolest experience," Bush said afterward. Yeah, almost as much fun as seeing your life flash before your eyes.

2. Driving a tractor is cooler than flying a fighter jet with no enemy for 9,000 miles?

12. This is typical for the giggling murderer... .
The whole incident is a diamond perfect example of his character.

If the miracle occurs, and funds for his war are cut off, I do not expect him to use any remaining money to bring the troops home. Rather, he will send them out on one last suicide mission. He will then wallow in the bloodbath, laugh, and blame it on his opponents

Edited on Tue Jan-30-07 07:54 PM by cynatnite
He was a farm mechanic all his life and he had little use for idiots and fruitcakes. Those are the names he'd use and I have no doubt he would have said it in this instance. He has low tolerance for showoffs. My stepdad was a redneck democrat to the core and there is a chance he might have voted for bush in 2000 had he lived, but there is no doubt in my mind he would have sorely regretted it because of the Iraq War. He was also a Vietnam vet and after seeing what's happened with our military and vets, bush would have earned my stepdad's vicious words.

25. make that MALICIOUS buffoon ...
Not the first time he's gotten aggressive with the press corps. But this time, he's got something way scarier than a football.

"He moves quickly from a fund raiser to a park where he meets up with Oakland Raiders wide receiver Tim Brown, a day camp full of kids, and the usual bevy of reporters, cameramen, and media types. Dubya picks up a football. "Bush has a pretty good arm," reporter Tucker Carlson writes, "except that all the passes appear to be aimed at the gaggle of reporters watching him from the sidelines. A Fox News correspondent looks up just in time to save his pearly caps from a particularly clean spiral. Bush laughs and cocks his arm again. A newspaper reporter turns out to have slower reflexes. The ball hits him square in the chest, almost knocking him down. Bush throws another, even harder. This one beans a cameraman. It's clear that Bush is doing this on purpose....Bush is trotting around the grass with a demented look on his face." Any reader who has had anything to do with male teens knows that this is pretty typical adolescent, passive-agressive behavior. Their girlfriends look away, pretending to be shocked, but you know that some of them think it's "cool." Carlson notes that, "for some reason no one in the press pool seems offended, perhaps because Bush is obviously having so much fun." "

A tractor is second best... he needs a new 9/11 to re-launch his presidency.

Any republican-states volunteer where they can keep their lips sealed?

27. Do you see what's going on here?..
Quoting the Decider: ""If you've never driven a D-10, it's the coolest experience," Bush said afterward. Yeah, almost as much fun as seeing your life flash before your eyes."

Cool? I'm surprised somebody in the crowd didn't go into cardiac arrest! Cripes!

Do you notice it's all about him? Does he say, "Sorry I scared y'all?" No, but HE seems positively hyped. Psychopaths do this. They crave excitement and often (impulsively: "I would suggest moving back...I'm about to crank this sucker up.") put themselves and/or others in danger. They get a high but are unconcerned about others' trauma.

I said something similar on the other thread about this event. Sorry to be repetitive. I'm getting more freaked out every day by this lunatic. Help!!

A caveat> There's nothing at all wrong with seeking out "cool" experiences or getting a "high" from something that's edgy and challenging i.e. skydiving, hang-gliding etc. It's about context. It's about a whole cluster of behaviors.
