1. Maybe the halfwit who wrote that

could enlighten everyone as to where those tankers are and which ones are currently empty - a lot, elsewhere in the world, are currently full with stored oil.

2. Not to mention "supertankers" aren't exactly designed as cleanup vehicles.
They are designed for transport. For each of the supposed supertankers brought in, you'd need attendant cleanup vehicles with the ability to pump the oil into the supertanker.

5. AND if the idiot listened to anything but Fox News he/she
would know that tankers, super or otherwise can't suck it up. Scientist and others who know have all explained that the oil is too spread out in small droplets and CAN'T BE EXTRACTED from the water. If it was concentrated in large pools then maybe, but otherwise no.

But then when your main source of information is Fox you never know what is going on in this country, only what Fox wants you to know, the lies.

3. ! & 2 - you miss the point: perception is everything - and essentially correct
As with everything else, given his seeming priority of staying on good terms with the rapacious Corps, Obama let the moment pass when he could have positioned himself as a fighter for justice, as the peoples' champion, as the truthteller and the demander of action. Once again, his feeble passivity has allowed the narrative to be shaped by our Oligarch Masters: it's "only" 5000 gallons, "no one could have forseen," "drilling is safe," "we need the jobs," "the press stresses the birds," "we're doing all we can," "BP has the expertise," blah blah blah. That he couldn't clean it up himself misses the point - he ended up looking feeble and useless and timid and ineffective.

Then, when it's far too late, he comes out with his artificial, carefully crafted "kick ass" comment.

Meanwhile, the gulf dies.
